Show & Tell: proof I like purple

June 29, 2008

in Show & Tell

Did you believe me when I said I like purple?

While pulling weeds the other day, I surveyed my landscape and noticed, for the first time, just how many different purple flowers we have.

Most of them, I inherited. But maybe, subconsciously, that’s why I insisted on buying this house rather than the one with the fancy kitchen that Roger wanted.

My most prized contribution is the silver-purple rose, which looks pink in the show. I’ve always wanted a purple rose bush, and last summer I made it happen.

Come enjoy my garden with me…and leave a comment or I’ll make you pull weeds. (If the slide show doesn’t load, please click on View all images. )

Y’all are invited to sniff and quaff.(The flowers and my mojitos, respectivelly.)Lollipop — yes, the chives are edible, but not the flower part (as far as I know).Jess — I most definitely should get some columbine.

Beautiful flowers! I have a blueish-purpleish thing and have no idea what it is called. I pick out what I like and have no idea what some of my flowers are called! I guess I should save those plastic thingies that come in the pot. I just figure they are all the same – sun, water, Miracle Grow!

I love all the purple! WE bought a purple rose bush…but I killed it. I need to stop touching things in our yard because my husband has a magical green thumb and mine is completely black…

Gorgeous. Are the purple chives edible? I hear chives and I think herb, but with the flowers?
