Me and Tami, circa 1970, Asbury Park, NJ
Being the mother of three little girls, and having no means of transportation during the day while my dad took the Rambler to work, my mom was delighted when her friend, the mother of a son my age, offered to take me for a haircut.
To a barber.
I have not had short hair since.
My sister gave me this framed photo a few years back, and it sits on my mantel. Today I’m sharing it in a not-so-wordless Wednesday.
She STILL sasses me at every chance.

Ah, don’t feel bad. Mama used to cut my hair (at least you had a professional doing yours!). She would work from pictures taken out of magazines. I had the pleasure of looking like Dorothy Hamill and Debbie Boone (just to name a few).
too cute!! I do love your long hair now though.
That is ADORABLE!

Yet another experience I missed out on (happily skipped) as an only child. But, you looked mah-velous!
I like it, very cute!
awww! What a super great picture!
Oh how I wish I had a sister. So lonely being an only child. My mom never let me get a hair cut. Once I left home that was the very first thing I did…chopped it off. But I never got used to the short hair and let it grow again. I guess mom’s do know best.>>RAxx
I really like that picture. I really do,>>J
Love the picture!
Oh, my gosh. That is A-dor-a-ble! I don’t think you can get cute shots like that anymore with digital cameras. The spontaneity is gone.
