Show & Tell: Visitor

in Show & Tell

Cassandra was in my neck of the woods last week, and she brought me this lovely hand-crafted dish (designed and made by her — isn’t it beautiful?).

I placed in it one of the dozen tulips Roger brought home last night. He said they were for me, but I think he’s earning double points because he also told his mother (currently visiting from RedSox Nation) they were for her.

In case you have any question (which you probably don’t), Cassandra is just as lovely in person as she is on blog. Thoughtful and generous with me, and aunt-ish with Tessa and Reed. You can read her account (and participate in Thoughtful Thursday) here.

After we took the kids to a chocolate shop and got some yummies, we came to our home and Cassandra allowed Tessa to play with her gorgeous long hair. We chatted and had dinner together, and then the day was over way too soon. We said farewell to Cassandra as she headed to the airport.

I hope to return the favor the next time we are in Cassandra’s ‘hood.

To be shown and told about more cool stuff, visit Mel’s Show & Tell.

Lori — I have seen you make a point of meeting your blogging friends in person. That takes the power of a virtual community to a whole new level. Wow!How does it feel when you finally meet a person you only know by the blogging identity you’ve created in your mind? How close do you usually get to the “real thing.”

That’s such a beautiful dish. It’s now my favorite of the pieces Cassandra has shown.

Lucky me, I may meet her in a few weeks!! Hopefully, over chocolate, too!

BTW, after reading < HREF="http://babysmiling.wordpress.com/2009/04/09/thoughtful-thursday-audience/" REL="nofollow">her post<> about the meeting, I’m really hoping that Reed is wrong and she’s NOT having a dog and a cat!
