“Whatcha doin?” the baritone voice on the phone asked.
“Working.” I said, lest he think I was a slacker.
“What are you GONNA be doing in half an hour?” he persisted.
“What are you getting at?” I countered.
“My meeting finished early and I’m in the neighborhood. Wanna meet me for lunch at [Our Place]?”
After briefly considering the can of lentil soup I was going to heat up, I declared, “I’m out the door.”
And that’s how I had an impromptu lunch date with my handsome husband.

I think the other kind of nooner could have been more fun.
Lovely…and I agree with My Reality (though you probably wouldn’t have posted about it).
So that’s what the kids are calling it these days??
I love surprise lunch dates! I agree with My Reality though. : P

Love it. Glad you had a nice lunch with your honey.
How awesome is it that you married a man who knows that a lunchdate is almost better than the other kind of nooner?! And I know I shouldn’t wish my children older, but can I tell you how much I look forward to the day when they are all in school and I can grab a lunchdate with my husband?!
How nice! It’s the things like that that can just make your day. Ya know?
Good times!
