Seasons in Denver fall creek

To Everything Turn, Turn, Turn

It’s been awhile since I’ve posted about standing in the exact same spot at the exact same time of day once a quarter. With Colorado’s weather front and center, as well as summer’s shift into fall, now is a good time to think seasons.

Thanks to the 23½  degree tilt of the earth’s axis, during half the year we tilt toward the sun, getting more hours of daylight to warm the earth, and during the other half of the year we tilt away from the sun, getting fewer hours of daylight to warm the earth.

Here are the seasons in my neck of the woods. How about yours?

  1. I love that you do this. I keep thinking I should mimic, and then forget to take the photo 🙂

Our weather is cold for this time of year. Really cold. Like wear a jacket cold.

  2. What a cool thing to do! We don’t have much in the way of seasons here in the bay. We have a warmer season and a colder season but the temperature only varies about 30 degrees between them. It doesn’t make for much change. I sometimes think we’re really missing out that we don’t have distinct seasons, but I also love the weather we have so… 😉

  3. Beautiful! I used to stand in front of the Narragansset in Kennebunk Beach each year and take my picture … it was my favorite building there, where my grandmother lived. I haven’t looked at those in a while …I should find them.

    I LOVE having four seasons!

  4. I love it when you post your seasons pictures. It’s a good reminder that we are all surrounded by the changing “seasons” in our lives. Thank you!

  5. Love your vista view! Thanks for sharing the seasons! We have trees across from us that I have captured over the four seasons too (and we live in SoCal) it helps my New England roots feel at home to have deciduous trees….no snow…but branches!

  6. In So CA, we have nothing in the way of marked seasonal shifts. Things are fairly fluid here. Yes, the days are much shorter than only a month ago and yes gone are our 100+ degree days, and at some point the leaves will turn in the blink of an eye, but it’s fairly flat season-wise.

That is why I LOVE seeing these photos with discernible changes in seasons.

    Thanks for sharing.

  7. Addison took the words right out of my mouth (or should I say typed them before I could)?! 🙂 I LOVE THIS and like Mel, need to try to remember to try doing this, one of these days, especially since I just got a new (my dream) camera after years of wanting a DSLR! 🙂
