Blogging for the sake of a book

I’m here because of Daisy.

Participation in a discussion of Peggy Orenstein’s book, Waiting for Daisy, requires me to set up this blog. Click on Stirrup Queens and Sperm Palace Jesters for more info on joining the discussion.

I’ll be talking about the usual blog stuff, too. Coffee, kids, adoption, school, releasing victimhood, healthful living, and whatever else comes up as I try to integrate all my many selves.

I may wobble, but I won’t fall down.

Won’t you wobble with me?

  1. Hi Lori

It’s great to see what got everybody started and why you wrote that first post. And in your case it looks like it’s come full circle.

  2. I am here from the future via “Time Warp Tuesday” and love getting to see your first blog post! 🙂 I doesn’t surprise me that this first of your now 800 entries so far was this concise, fun and inspiring to read.

I LOVE this part of your post:

Such a great introduction you and your intentions for this blog/writing here.

I so wish that I had found you sooner! I wish I had participated in a book tour before I finally did with Eat, Pray, Love in August 2008. Though even then, as we recently discovered, our paths crossed and we briefly interacted, it took us until you hosted the book tour for Mel’s Life From Scratch for, as you put it so nicely, us to “stick.”

I am grateful that you started this blog almost 5 years ago and for all that you are and have been to others in our ALI Community since. I am heading back to the future now to comment on your new post today. 🙂

  3. You wobble and I stumble, gracefully of course. 😉

I remember reading that book. I was actually reading it during jury duty one summer, the summer I lost my pregnancy. At that time I devoured any book I could on IF or loss or adoption. It was all I could think about and I wanted only to read about it too (since I couldn’t ever talk about it – god forbid).

I’m so glad that book brought you here. And I’m so glad I eventually found you. Because you are AWESOME!
