The in-laws just left. My daughter is bereft. She loves to be with Grandma Marshmallow. Shouldn’t every child have a grandma that indulges with endless time and energy and lipstick?
I’ll spend the day getting the house back to normal. Later this morning, I’m having an acupuncture appointment, given me by my Mom for my birthday. It’s for nothing in particular. Oh wait, maybe some help dropping the extra pounds of eggnog and fudge that are clinging to my thighs.
No special plans for tonight. Might I suggest a gathering in Mel’s living room? We meet there on the hour until the New Year is duly rung in ’round the globe?
I have a secret excitement. We did almost no presents this year within my family. It’s not because we’re not worthy. It’s because instead of Stuff, this year we’re going for an Experience. In just a few days, my parents, my sisters Sheri and Tami, their husbands and sons, my Tessa and Reed and I are heading for the sights of Washington, DC.
And one more thing. I get to meet some of you! I plan to be at the DC Bloggers gathering on Sunday. I’m thankful that my built-in babysitters will entertain my children while we gab.
So, if you live in the greater DC area, whether you’re a declared DC Blogger or not, contact Mel at thetowncriers at gmail dotcom if you’d like the particulars on joining us. I am so eager to put faces to names and stories!
I’m wishing you all a very calm end to 2007, and an auspicious beginning, middle and end to 2008. May we have much to celebrate in the coming days and months.
