Perfect Moment Monday: brought to you by the letter D

Perfect Moment Monday is more about noticing a perfect moment than about creating one. Perfect moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between.

We gather here once a week to engage in mindfulness about something that is right with our world. Everyone is welcome to join. Details on how to participate are at the bottom of this post, complete with bloggy bling.

Please visit the links of the participants at the bottom.

Here’s a perfect moment from my week.

====================================

My children know how to behave in a restaurant: make as much noise as possible, run and jump and spin from one end of the place to the other, and swoop down on the table intermittently for a bite of pizza or a sip of a Shirley Temple. And maybe even pole dance (hello, Google pervs!).

I know how to behave in a restaurant with my children: encourage them to do all those things while I enjoy a nice glass of Merlot, munch on a Greek salad, chat with my friends, listen to catchy music, and watch the children get blessedly exhausted.

Every Sunday afternoon The D Note offers Baby Boogie to metro-Denver families. The owners of this bar/restaurant/music venue have 3 young daughters and wanted to incorporate their working Sundays with their family Sundays.

It’s a win-wine situation.

Kiddie instruments are supplied, as are hula hoops, balloons, hip kiddie music (think They Might be Giants and the Beatles). But the real draw to the children, I suppose, is having the run of the place.

The D-Note serves gourmet pizzas and signature pastas, and it has a fully stocked bar. Yum!

Lots of perfect moments to be had at Baby Boogie.

  2. I saw an ad for this and actually cut it out of the paper to put on my bulletin board as a reminder to try this with Claire. It’s good to hear that it’s as fun as it sounds!

  3. My perfect moment is really just me sharing some really great treasures. I think they are truly perfect. ahhhhhh!….that and I happened to remember today was perfect moment monday and I love perfect moments, I just never remember them on monday! =)

  4. I love that they provide instruments for the kiddos. Just wish they didn’t do it only on Sunday. 🙂

  5. you know what else they do? they instantly empty out your purse in search of interesting goodies and begin mastering every piece of electronic equipment more efficiently than the adults. oh, and they play under the tables when there is no public play area… win-wine sounds like it works too though!

  6. That place sounds great. And my Show & Tell doubles as a perfect moment because it really was–it was like a whole day of perfect moments, though the best was getting the call at the mall.

  7. If I were in Denver I would totally go. I love gourmet pizza! Feta cheese, kalamata olives, roasted red peppers, and big hunks of garlic…mmmmmm.

  8. I can vouch for the D’Note and all of the wonderful people there. They are very into fostering a love of music, art and community and it’s so refreshing to know that people are actually supportive of kids ruling the roost and running wild.
