Whenever we have out of town guests, we take them to nearby Red Rocks amphitheater, climb down to the stage and pretend we are British rock stars.
We took visitors there recently and I took a couple of non-amphitheater photos of these breathtakingly beautiful geologic formations:
And for some context for the title of this post, here ya go:

What beautiful pictures! Almost looks like Sedona (I actually clicked on the link to see if it was).
Oh my GOD.
THIS is the post I come to first, as I am currently playing catchup with everybodys blogs.
THIS post, Lozza. It’s a total sign. That you are a complete Goddamn beautiful legend. XOXOXOX
PS I LOVE your new rings, just beautiful.
I’ve heard of this wonderful place, but never been. Love the icicle pic!
I’ve been there! The best part was when we were rolling backwards down the road, because we were learning to drive a stick shift and couldn’t get the car going in first gear. Oops.
It’s beautiful there, though.
agreed, on both counts! thanks for posting this — it’s great to learn about new places to have on my if-i-ever-get-to-x list.
Looks like an amazing place. I love the shot with the icicles.
It looks beautiful. But a bit cold for a girl who lives in temperate clime! Icicles off rocks. Wow.
And thanks for the trip down memory lane. Do you think U2 provided the soundtrack for every gen x’ers coming of age?
You can see why though, when you look at the vid.
Gorgeous pictures! I love red rocks, although I’ve never been to a concert there.
I love Red Rocks! One of my favorite places on earth.
Oh what wonderful pictures. I’ve read about this place but have never seen pictures of it.
I am going to have to remedy the fact that I have never been up there in the winter – those pictures are amazing! Red Rocks is such an awesome venue – the scenery, the intimacy . . . just awesome.
Have you ever gone up for Film on the Rocks? It almost pains me to go see a movie in the theater when I know that I could wait a few years and maybe get to see it there!
Some major acts that usually play bigger venues make a point of always playing Red Rocks when they tour, and with good reason.
Hopefully someday I can accompany you!
I saw my first BIG concert at Red Rocks. Good memories!
The photos are beautiful!
This is gorgeous, great photos.
Red Rocks Rock!
Happy Valentime’s Day to the Luz’s loves, super cute btw. Mwah!
Beautiful pictures! When I think of Red Rocks, I always think of U2.
Gorgeous. Reminds me of Sedona in Arizona. How I loved that place.
wow, I thought it was beautiful in sunshine but it is so gorgeous in snow!
Oh how pretty! I’ve never heard of it, but now I’m interested! 🙂 Off to research!
The photos make me want to go even more than I already do. I’ve always wanted to go to a concert at Red Rocks. Maybe some day.
Thanks for sharing.
Wow, those are beautiful.
My greatest memory of Red Rocks is Easter Sunrise Service. But wait. I do that with you.
My second greatest memory of Red Rocks is seeing the Go Go’s in concert. But wait. I did that with you.
My third greatest memory of Red Rocks is climbing the stairs. But wait. I’ve never done that with you. Maybe this spring?
Gorgeous, even in winter!
Ooooh, hubby and I would *love* to go to Red Rocks for a concert. It sounds/looks awesome!
And speaking of looking awesome, love your new picture. HOTTIE!
