Perfect Moment Monday: Meeting My Perfect Moment Doppelganger

Back when I started observing Perfect Moments (2 years ago this week), I became aware of the Perfect Moment Project, which was doing something similar. Authored by Robin and Sue, the PMP was “an ongoing project to gather and share stories, photos and other memories of those times when the world seems at peace.

Robin and I became friends on Twitter and Facebook and checked in with each other regularly. Online.

But this past Monday, Robin was in town to visit her mom, so I got to MEET her. And her delightful mom.

You’d never know from her demeanor that Robin is a Big Shot in the field of journalism. She’s recently taken a position as Web Managing Editor for BusinessJournalism.org. She’s on faculty at Arizona State University, and has also served at Columbia University. She is one of the success stories in dragging traditional media into the emerging realm of new media.

And she glows with an inner light. She is a woman at peace with herself, and fully able shine that peace on others.

In other words, I am sure she deposits perfect moments into people’s accounts all over the place.

Here is photo evidence of me with Robin’s mom, Joyce. And with Robin herself. It was a perfect lunch in all ways (note the salt-caramel & chocolate ice cream in the cup).

  1. A first time meeting with an on-line friend combined with salt caramel and chocolate?!?! Perfect moments were MEANT for days like that!

  2. Yes! That was a perfect moment for me too.
Loved meeting you in person, Lori. Didn’t it feel like we have known each other for a long time?
Thanks for the great post! I’ll share with my mom.

  3. What can go wrong when there is ice cream?

Not having a great relationship with my mother, I love hearing about and meeting mother / adult daughter pairs that get along so well.

  4. I can only imagine how awesome you two ladies were, having lunch together!

And salivating over that ice cream has made my blood sugar shoot through the roof. Stupid gestational diabetes… I feel a perfect moment coming on, when I can finally have DESSERT again! (Oh yeah, and the birth of the twins. Naturally, that too.)

  5. I truly think there is nothing better in the universe than when ‘real’ life and the blogging world collide. Yeah for a great day!

  6. I can’t wait to meet some of my bloggy friends face-to-face.

Meeting Robin and her mom sounds perfect!

As always…thanks for sharing your Perfect Moment!
