Perfect Moment Monday: Beachin’

Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than creating one. Perfect moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between.

Once a week we engage in mindfulness about something that is right with our world. Everyone is welcome to join. Details on how to participate are at the bottom of this post, complete with bloggy bling.

Please visit the links of the participants at the bottom.

Here’s a perfect moment from my week. I hope you’ll share yours, too.

====================================

I’m reaching back to a perfect moment I had a few weeks ago while visiting husband’s family in New England. My mother-in-law, battling cancer, was feeling well enough for a trip to her beloved Cape Ann for a day at the beach.

Rockport is special to Roger because he spent his childhood summers there with his cousins. It’s special to me because I get to watch my children romp there annually, and because last year Cassandra, pregnant with Burrito and Tamale, joined us.

Here are how my children played this year. Dead. Which you can afford to do when you are so full of life.

In watching them, I had a perfect childhood memory moment.

Without the sand in the cracks.

  1. Awesome! I spent last week recapturing my childhood summers for my daughter. It also involved a trip to the beach. I thought she was going to explode with happiness.

  2. Amazing really…and I am glad Grandmother Lisa was there…

    Ha Ha Ha…you talking of BabySmiling reminded me of the faux pas I had committed on a post about the trip…a certain word I had used…just got fresh in my memory!

    A beach town has also been a part of my growing up memory…I hope to take my kid(s) to sea-side and I hope they love the sea as much as I do.

  3. It’s amazing to see your kids so still! That in itself is perfect!

    And to see them creating their own childhood memories…is awesome!

    Thanks for sharing your Perfect Moment!

  4. oh I loved those pictures and you’re so right, it can take you right back to those days, of innocence and happiness, of summer and sunshine and you don’t even think about the SAND.

    thanks for sharing those pics and those memories, they made me smile. 🙂
