The Day I Became a “Real” Mom

Remember how ner-cited I was to perform at the Mother’s Day-themed Listen To Your Mother Show two months ago? Remember my anticipation around it?

The video is now available. For those of you not able to attend the show, here’s “The Day I Earned My Mom Badge,” about the moment I knew I had become a “real” mom.

Who knew I could get so much mileage out of such a crappy experience?

I highly recommend you check out the clips of my fellow cast members who are also on the Denver playlist. I’ve heard each of them multiple times now and I’m still laughing and crying at these superb stories and storytellers.

  1. Lori, I’m amazed that you were able to keep a straight face! I am crying laughing here … you absolutely nailed the delivery! How I wish I’d been there … but I’m so glad you posted this. 🙂

  2. Oh, that was fantastic! Great story, excellent storyteller…and a gorgeous dress! Nice job – can’t wait to see what you come up with for your remaining 11 minutes. 🙂

  3. Lori — Once again you amaze, entertain and inspire me…plus you made me laugh out loud, even though I had heard this story before. Great job!

  4. By the way – I didn’t know you’d been in Costa Rica. I did my graduate internship there. Pura Vida! And my skin is creeping at the thought of poop soup. Oh man. I need some hand sanitizer. You’ve connected me with my inner Mr. Monk. And yet, you’ve managed to make a beautiful, touching story out of a tub full of poop.
