The Fable of the Scorpion and the Frog

A scorpion asks a frog to carry it across a river. The frog hesitates, afraid of being stung, but the scorpion argues that if it did so, they would both drown.election 2016 donald trump hillary clinton

Considering this, the frog agrees, but midway across the river the scorpion does indeed sting the frog, dooming them both.

On the way to their deaths, the frog asks the scorpion: WHY?? The scorpion replies,

“You silly. It’s my nature.”

Hey, fellow Froggy Voters. Let’s not be surprised when a candidate proves true to their nature. We’ve had plenty of warnings, haven’t we?

As I did for the 2012 election, I’m linking again to VoteMatch. Go ahead and answer the questions, and see if you get any surprises. I did.

And if you still need more, plot yourself on the Nolan Chart (see how well you know yourself).

  1. I’ve taken these test’s before, and I was definitely surprised by my match. What I figured out, is that I still need to do a bit more research/fact checking before I make my voting decision. It’s going to be very interesting this year!

  2. 1) Biden, 2) Clinton, 3) Sanders, 4) Warren

No surprises there, but a really cool quiz. I’m going to ask my hubs to take it, too.

  3. I got one *bleep* of a surprise – since when is Rosanne Barr running for president? :O

Great food for thought, Lori. Somehow, I can’t help but wish it was already November 5th, so we can stop with all this depressing political stuff, and start focusing on criticizing the new CINC. 😛

  4. No surprise to me at all: I am a centrist, but in the liberal/libertarian corner…

I took one of the issues quizzes not long ago, and was surprised that I aligned very closely with Bernie Sanders….because, while I like many of his ideas, I don’t really think any of them are practical.

  5. I need to take the quiz even though I’ve already researched the candidates and know the person I’m voting for. My eyes started swimming when I saw the small type and the number of questions. But I love that you do this.
