Uh, I think I’m going to have to go with “weird.”

It Is What It Is May 23, 2012 at 8:39 am

Weird doesn’t even touch how disturbing I find the key chain. Moreover, what kind of person would purchase and then use it?

Valerie Power May 23, 2012 at 9:23 am

I think there’s nothing more beautiful than pregnancy (maybe because I’ve never been able to experience it) and I have many fertility “goddess” statues in my home that, in essence, show the same thing.

But, that, I find disturbing…on so many levels.

Definitely weird. And not just a little disturbing.

Rajean May 23, 2012 at 2:35 pm

Creepers, what will ‘they’ think of next? No thanks.

Andie May 23, 2012 at 5:11 pm

Seriously weird!

Seriously?! May 23, 2012 at 7:09 pm

ICK!!!! Seriously I find this disturbing. Why? I don’t know…but just ick.

Ratna May 23, 2012 at 7:27 pm

Eeek—- what the heck???

shannon May 23, 2012 at 8:19 pm

VERY weird!

Eeew. I found it cute when someone made a pregnant balloon animal for a baby shower at work, but I’m not a fan of random torsos in general. Makes me think of a particularly bad day at work that one time…

right up there with darn right creepiness.

Angela May 24, 2012 at 6:40 am

I just can’t…that is too freaky for me. Nothing whimsical about that key chain!

Rhonda "Roo" May 24, 2012 at 8:35 am

Glad to see I’m not alone with the opinion that it is just creepy!

Jay May 24, 2012 at 12:06 pm

Ick. No head.

Daria May 25, 2012 at 8:57 am

It reminds me of animal embryos in jars – so, yeah, I’d have to say I’m not a fan.

Seriously?! May 25, 2012 at 2:56 pm

Daria just hit the nail on the head.

Forgive me for being blunt, but every time I had a miscarriage and I had to collect the tissue, I would always google what I’d be looking for because it was at various points in pregnancy each time.

Guess what it looked like?

Dead fetus at 10 weeks.

So um…yup, that’s it for me. No thanks, I won’t be sportin that key chain!

How about you Lori???? Waiting for you to chime in!

Totally creeped out.

Imagine a whole basket full of them. I plucked out just one to take a photo.

I’ve been trying to figure out what I think about this. In an odd, medically inquisitive way I can understand how this might have seemed like a good idea in the planning stages. However, I simply cannot figure out how the disturbing reality of this key chain–of all things–makes sense. Considering the butt-first presentation of the baby, I’d call this a breech of good taste.

I asked my 11 year old son what he thought about it. He pondered, wordless for a while, and then simply blurted out: “WHY did someone make that?” From the mouth of a babe comes the truth.

Kristin May 27, 2012 at 11:50 pm

Pregnancy is amazingly beautiful. That is just weird.

BTW, thanks for the link love.

I wonder if they have a whole series — kidneys in lucite, spleen in lucite, brain in lucite…

Kathy June 1, 2012 at 5:43 pm

Hmmm… This image leave me unusually speechless.
