Perfect Moment Monday is about noticing a perfect moment rather than about creating one. Perfect moments can be momentous or ordinary or somewhere in between.

====================================
Roger had surgery on Friday for his collarbone broken in The Accident. My brother-in-law, Tom, had surgery the previous Friday for an elbow broken in a lame attempt to one-up Roger.
Later that evening, Sheri (my sister) and Tom visited us for the weekend. Though Roger had been snoozing all afternoon, he perked right up when Tom entered the picture.
Our two boys joked long into the night about their accidents, surgeries, nurses, scam to get their wives to wait on them, prescription drugs, undone yard tasks, and what they plan to do next summer (which better include taking their wives to BlogHer).
It was awesome to see them enjoying themselves so much. They didn’t allow their cracked ribs (7 between them) to impede the laughter.
So, you may be asking yourself, what’s with the title of this post?
This morning, I woke up Reed right before Sheri and I went to a yoga class to tell him that Daddy and Uncle Tom would be taking care of him.
“OK, Mama,” hes said sleepily. “You’re leaving me with the Half-Dead Big Boys?”
It wasn’t said with sarcasm, but with earnestness.
The kid cracks. me. up.

Oh my gosh, Reid is hysterical! Love it. And, yay, a picture!
Ha Ha Ha!
Sheesh! Don’t let the Big Boys read the joke on them! 🙂
Cute … “half-dead”… 🙂
‘Half-Dead Big Boys’
That kid has a future in naming bands or pitching movies.
I can see it now.. ‘Half-Dead Big Boys’ starring Shia LaBeouf and Jamie Bell.
The half dead boys? Too funny! Sounds like lots of Perfect Moments wrapped up in a great weekend!
Hugs!

(PS..Didn’t see Mr Linky).
Reed calls them like he sees them!
I think his comment was referring to the fact that neither of the “half-dead big boys” could wrestle, throw a ball or do anything with him but sit on the couch talking about their wounds. 🙂
We had a GREAT weekend! Thanks for everything and happy recovery to Roger.
LOL – Oh the mind of children. I love it!
Yay for the picture!
I love how your family seems to find humor in so many things.
And I’m really glad about that “half” being there- :). The photos confirms it…they appear totally alive!
Heh, heh. sounds like the kid has “got their number” Thanks for inviting me to participate; these posts were heartwarming to read. Peace.
Wow, those are some handsome Half Dead Men!! Your kids crack me up too. Thanks for sharing and glad laughter is being heard at the Weebles home.

That’s hysterical! I love it!
Too funny!
he is hilarious!
Reed, that is the best thing I have heard in weeks!
I’m still laughing from that one. I love Reed–he is clever. We should marry him off to the ChickieNob and they can be their sassy selves together AND I would know that the ChickieNob was getting a great MIL.
Y’all seriously need to get some candy striper costumes to wear for the half dead big boys.
Dude. Loves you. Loves it.
Love it! Kids come up with the most amazing things!
Very funny!
Yeah. Da Kid cracks me up too!
I’m still wondering at the odds–two outlaws, same family within 10 days of each other, different states. Then, if you expand the circle to include Gino too, with HIS broken wing in June–don’t you wish you’d bet on the lottery?
E-NOUGH already!
No no, half-alive!
I almost fell off my barstool!!
I love kids and their honesty.
ROFL…”half dead big boys.” Hilarious!
Seroiusly though, glad they’re both doing well.
LOL. Kinda true, eh?
Earnestness is far funnier than sarcasm. I wish I could pull that off more often. (But then, if you’re trying, does that really mean you’re being earnest?)
Half dead big boys. Love. It. I think you need to knit him a sweater with that on it. (or maybe an arm sling)
So good to see the men in your life standing and smiling!
Yeah, definite perfect moment.
