Show & Tell: Dynamic Duo

Here’s Roger and me one our way to a wine tasting this week, courtesy the alumni council of his graduate school.

This occasion is remarkable for two reasons. First, I wore lipstick. I always need Tessa’s help with this because I don’t actually own any lipstick. I’ve never bought lipstick. But somehow, my 8 year old daughter has a stash, and she came up with a not-unflattering color for me.

Secondly, this week marks the 15th anniversary of the day Roger and I first met, although I’d had my eye on him for a few months before that. I suppose that makes me a stalker. And seeing as how I have 3 years on him, I am also a cougar. Yeah, I’m a cougar/stalker. Can you blame me??

See what non-cougar/stalkers are showing and telling at Mel’s Show & Tell.

  1. And — since I’ve wondered about this ever since I first heard the term — any idea of the derivation of “cougar”??? It’s probably totally obvious, but I’ve been having far too much trouble figuring it out.

  2. You guys look fabulous!

Tessa did a wonderful job with the lipstick.

And Raaaaaawwwwwwwwrrrrr is right! Your Rob is a hottie! lol

  3. What a knock-out couple! Sounds like a really fun evening.

I am 4 months older than my DH… does that make me a cougar too?? 🙂

  4. Nice lipstick selection, Tessa! Did she also try to apply foundation, blush, eye shadow, nail polish, mascara, high-heeled shoes and a matching purse?

You two look FABULOUS!! Absolutely FABULOUS!

Rob is a hottie! So are you! A striking couple indeed!

  5. 3 years… Pah, I say!! My sister’s man is just shy of a decade younger. We’ve been working the cougar jokes in the family, let me tell you!!!

    You guys look great!

  6. Niobe — an excellent question. When I look at Urban Dictionary, there are definitions but not derivations.

Maybe because of the hunter aspect?

  7. OOOOOHHHHLALA!!! Tre Tre Fab-u, sistah!

I was going to reiterate the fact your hubster is smokin’ but now that I’m old it’s kinda cougar-like and creepy. sniff sniff.. ;o)

  8. Happy Anniversary! My husband and I have been together just slightly longer than you and Rob.

Our wedding anniversary has usurped our getting-together anniversary as the big one, but I still like to acknowledge the day and celebrate the round number ones. To the extent that we celebrate anything, given that we don’t really “do” traditional romantic holidays.

  9. Oh darlin’ you make me laugh. What a wonderful photo for a lovely celebration. A great looking couple. 😉 Congrats on the 15-year milestone.

  10. First of all, the lipstick is stunning. Second of all, since I have been lucky enough to meet Rob, I can tell everyone that he’s not only attractive, but also warm and funny as well. The cougar got a good catch (prey?), but as well all know, he did as well.

  11. First thing I thought (I saw the photo first) was “what a good looking couple” then “wow, he’s hot!”

    you, cougar, you.

    rowrl, indeed.

  12. What a couple of hotties the two of you!

Sounds like it was a nice evening. Love that your girl hooked you up with the perfect shade of lipstick. Geez I need to borrow her next time I go to Walgreens!

  13. Oh Tessa did a great job with the lipstick!

Am very surprised…you don’t have your own lipstick????? Whoa!

Congrats on the anniversary! You two look really sweet together!

  14. Loz, you know I think you are a dead-set spunk …..

and HUBBA HUBBA. I haven’t ever seen a pic of Rob before. Woo HOOO.

    Dang he’s HOT.

    As you were.

  15. Great pic!!! Congrats on 15 years!!! He was a he has a sense of humor, has a graduate degree…so he’s smart…and he’s handsome!! Good catch, cougar!

  16. What a fantastic picture! Kudos to Tessa – she did a fine job with your lipstick.

The stalking had to be done. Totally understandable.
