Here’s Roger and me one our way to a wine tasting this week, courtesy the alumni council of his graduate school.
This occasion is remarkable for two reasons. First, I wore lipstick. I always need Tessa’s help with this because I don’t actually own any lipstick. I’ve never bought lipstick. But somehow, my 8 year old daughter has a stash, and she came up with a not-unflattering color for me.
Secondly, this week marks the 15th anniversary of the day Roger and I first met, although I’d had my eye on him for a few months before that. I suppose that makes me a stalker. And seeing as how I have 3 years on him, I am also a cougar. Yeah, I’m a cougar/stalker. Can you blame me??

And — since I’ve wondered about this ever since I first heard the term — any idea of the derivation of “cougar”??? It’s probably totally obvious, but I’ve been having far too much trouble figuring it out.

Happy Anniversary! My husband and I have been together just slightly longer than you and Rob.
Our wedding anniversary has usurped our getting-together anniversary as the big one, but I still like to acknowledge the day and celebrate the round number ones. To the extent that we celebrate anything, given that we don’t really “do” traditional romantic holidays.

First of all, the lipstick is stunning. Second of all, since I have been lucky enough to meet Rob, I can tell everyone that he’s not only attractive, but also warm and funny as well. The cougar got a good catch (prey?), but as well all know, he did as well.
