The Year of the Luz 2015

Highlights and lowlights of 2015.

Quarter 1: Family Fight Night

It was a rough start to the year. My  inner badass was activated at my son’s basketball game and I almost got into a brawl.

That was on the heels of our 3 Wheelchair Night.

Quarter 2: Paperback (and Letter) Writer

My book came out in paperback.

Also, I wrote letters of disappointment to Dear Abby and a senator from Texas.

Quarter 3: Health Scares

I had a health scare and my son had a freak accident.

More cheerily, my first cover story was published, “Biology Matters in Adoption.”

Quarter 4: Costco and Kohl’s

Here’s the story of how Costco reached 8.6 million members on the topic of Adoptee Rights and #flipthescript.

Kohl’s covered an adoption reunion. Not everyone was pleased.

  1. Yikes! Quite the eventful year! I like the idea of highlighting things in three month increments – I might steal this format next year. 😀

    Happy New Year, Lori!

  2. Quite a year indeed! Glad you didn’t get into a brawl (though I’m not pissing off you or Tess ever), wonderful about the book, thank you for the letters and hooray for the Costco and Kohl’s efforts about raising awareness! It’s been a crazy year. May 2016 be less crazy, but just as fruitful.

  3. So much to reflect on! I’m glad that you and your son survived your health scares/freak accidents relatively unscathed. So much to be proud of here! I hope 2016 is awesome for you.

  4. Happy New Year! I hope that 2016 is a wonderful year for you and your family, and I hope that it also means another trip to Denver for me!
