Haiku for August 1

 A sense of sadness
The month when school doors open
More work, fewer zzzzzzzs

I woke up this morning with a touch of depression. Since forever, June and July have been my favorite months. I like the letter J, I love the brevity of the four-letter names, and I crave the warmth and freedom that ensues. Now I have to wait 10 more months for my favorite time of year to come around again.

So today I mourn the passing of June and July. I put my wistfulness to use in the Haiku Buckaroo contest. Write your own and enter (by August 10).
