Show & Tell: Aspiration

Reed has decided what he wants to be when he grows up.

He designed and created the prime accoutrement himself: a homemade and scotch-taped scythe.

My son, Grim Reaper in-training.

(This post was his idea: “Mom! Take a picture of me and put it on your blog! But don’t show my face.*”)

To see the showings and tellings of the rest of the class, visit Mel’s Show & Tell.

* We are teaching our children to protect their privacy online. Once their (real) names and images are out there, it’s forever, for anyone — friend, stranger or foe — to use as s/he pleases.

Just in case you wondered.

  1. Kristin: ROFL, too!

Chicklet: I MIGHT be that cute if I, too, had a scythe.

Cassandra: that’s his Fierce pose, lol.

  2. I wonder if the dying will be more or less intimidated to see the Grim Reaper standing on one leg.

  3. Anything sharp and pointy for Reed! The photo is TOO cute!

But…he is too nice to be the Grim Reaper. At least people wouldn’t be scared of death. 🙂

  4. Ha, ha…if this is what he likes to dress up in May, I can’t imagine what he’ll dress up for halloween! LOL.

I love the stance and stripe shirt though…makes is seem less doomsdayish.

  5. He is adorable! There is a whole new world out there to learn and teach – *sigh* – you are a great mom.

  6. ROFL…that is so funny! You’re doing such a great job with this one–and I definitely would be more intimidated to see the dexterity of the Grim Reaper with his ability to stand on one leg!

  7. OMGoodness that is PRICELESS! Do you think it that (you know, the Grim Reaper line of work) pays well and has health benefits?

  8. so cute (and smart too!) I agree with chicklet! also, I like sheri’s comment. maybe if reed came to get me I’d go quietly… or I’d woo him with my ipod.

  9. How awesome! I love his career of choice ;o) Good job about protecting their identities online. It’s a fine line, sometimes.
