The obligatory first-day-of-school post

I post this, as I have posted others, because one day I will be attending their high school graduations. And I will want to look back on this beautiful, glorious, independence-blossoming, confidence-bearing morning.

First day of schoolHere’s to my bloomers.

  1. My son’s school doesn’t start until 9/9 so we are squeezing out the last days of summer here (and it will be 100 degrees for the next week, so that is easier to do).

Such a monumental rite of passage, the starting of school. Here’s to learning and growing.

  2. You are amazing. I’m new to your blog from ICLW and I’m blown away by the beautiful mission of your blog (and life). Keep it up.

Also, there is nothing better than the first day of school. It’s a must-document sort of day. Way to go, Mama.

  3. Well, well look at my 2 fashion-forward kiddos!

Love your text too. Im sure they’ll love looking back on these one day as well 🙂

  4. I love the hat and backpack combo that Reed is sporting – very retro cool! (But on him, I would expect nothing less!) Congratulations on making it through another summer and on the first day of a new school year – both seem like such a rite of passage, both for them and for us! And I know it goes without saying, but enjoy those little moments of quiet that are now a little easier to grab!

  5. wiping the tears from my eyes…and wondering how time just gets away from us. wish them a fantastic year from me. what a gorgeous picture.

  6. Next week it will be time for school here and I really don’t know where the summer went. I am still trying to wrap my brain around the fact that this year I am the mom of a 13 year old 8th grader … it seems like just yesterday she was born.
